With Respect .
As Memorial Day approaches, my thoughts keep drifting to the word Respect. By definitionrespect means to demonstrate “high regard” for someone or something. Respect is a way of treating or thinking about someone. Memorial Day is our country’s way of respecting and remembering those who died during active military service.  It was Inspired by the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives during the Civil War. As the day grew closer, my mind kept drifting back to the significance of the word respect. We learn the basic social guidelines for respect as children.  Receiving respect from others is important. It helps us  feel safe. By respecting another person we strengthen our sense of connection. Respect is the essential building block for a well function world. We have to give respect in order to get it. People who respect each other learn trust and support. Therefore, as we remember and respect all who have died in military service and open our hearts to those they left behind. Let us further honor them by embracing the word respect. Thank you to all that have given their lives. I truly respect you. Margie’s Daughter margiesdaughter.com
