Oh, yes you can! We absolutely can not hold two thoughts in our mind at the same time. For example, thoughts of fear and silly. Silly thoughts wins out every time. Make a list of silly/feel good thoughts ranking them from 1 to 5 with 5 being the most powerful. The instance negative thoughts start choose one. Now, unleash your imagination and visual mind. Paint vivid pictures and images of silly/feel good thoughts. Let them flood your mind. With a little practice the switching process is easily mastered. Another highly effective behavior is to perform uncomplicated acts of kindness. Did you know that a simple “thank you” or “please” is an act of kindness? Both of these simple behaviors produce endorphins and other feel good hormones. Besides they cost nothing. Are in endless supply and completely under our control.
