An Act That Short Circuits Our Power Grid. A Story Worth Telling

giphy[1]The Greek myth of “Procrustes and his bed” is a story worth telling. On the road to Athens, in ancient Greece, a person had to pass by Procrustes and his bed. Procrustes would place the person on the bed and cut off any part that did not fit his expectations. When a person was too short for his bed, he would stretch them until they did fit. He would continue the process of adjusting them until they finally  fit all of his expectations. The myth clearly demonstrates what happens when we allow the expectations of others to define us. We cut off, stretch out, and bury important and powerful parts of our self. The practice of giving our power away takes root and steadily grows. A further shift occurs as our index finger continually points to others as the source and reason for all that is good and bad in our life. It is just that simple………
