Conversations with My Mother

Y Is A Crooked Letter…

I realized In early childhood my words were valued and more importantly heard. This empowering life lesson was a gift from my Mother Margie. She often told this story always for my benefit. “When I tell my daughter to do something” She says “Why Mother”. So, I was launched on my quest for answers. My Mother would listen intently giving serious consideration to my quest for answers. Often, I could sense both her bemusement and frustration. As I fired off question after question. Repeatedly asking “but why? but why? but why? Finally, half laughing half serious say, “Because Y is a crooked letter”. Temporarily satisfied, I would wander off to contemplate how Y could be a crooked letter. My quests for answers taught me how to seek my own counsel and draw my own conclusions. I was learning how to think. I still take time daily to contemplate Y. A proven strategy to discover answers by listening to my own counsel. Now that is power. Thanks Mommargiesdaughter.com
