My thoughts keep drifting to the meaning of the word Respect. We learn the social guidelines and behaviors of respect as children. The dictionary definition is to demonstrate a high regard for someone or something. Respect is the standard that defines how we treat people. Respect is a two way street. We have to give Respect to receive Respect. Memorial Day is our Nation Respecting all who died during active military service. It is an opportunity to open our hearts to those they left behind.
