Practice Doing Nothing….

Active relaxation or doing nothing is the perfect prescription to regulate stress and anxiety. Regular practice strengthens our immune system, relaxes our nervous systems and recharges our brain.  The strategic first step is to give your self permission to do nothing. Experiment with what works best for you. Simple behaviors such as listening to soothing music or a walk in the park. My favorite is to sit in silence and stare into space. You may prefer to stare at an object, photo, painting. A pet is a great choice. Use your imagination. Create a set of do nothing behaviors. Practice doing nothing.
