There is a primal connection between our emotions and breathing. Diaphragmatic breathing activates the branch of our nervous system that regulates stress and anxiety. The following simple exercise activates our diaphragm. It can be done sitting up or lying down. Once comfortable. Close your eyes. Notice the breath moving in out through your nose. Strengthen the connection by placing a finger under your nose. Feel your breath flowing in and out. Once the connection is experienced. Place a hand on your belly. Keep breathing in and out. When you experience belly movement. You are breathing diagrammatically. Take control. Practice diaphragmatic breathing. It is just that simple.
We are born breathing diaphragmatically.
